RYAN VINSON // LEAD PASTOR

Pastor Ryan has been a part of the planting and growth of Freedom Church since its beginning in 2008. He and his family are Boone County residents and have spent the past two decades watching God do a special work in and through the people of Freedom Church. Pastor Ryan remains passionate about seeing Jesus represented well to those who are far from Him and to see the church be the beacon of hope that God created it to be.
The Vinson family has been instrumental in launching and leading several different ministries in our church’s history. Ryan served for the first five years of our church as the youth pastor and then for two years as the Executive Pastor, overseeing the staff and day-to-day operations of the church. In May of 2015, Ryan was voted in as the Lead Pastor of our growing congregation. Since that time, Freedom Church has continued to grow, reaching people who are far from God and serving Boone County in whatever way we can. As we look to the future decades, we will continue to navigate the changing culture around us with the love of God, in a way that says, “In Boone County as it is in Heaven.”
Pastor Ryan received his pastoral credentials through Global University in 2007 and a Master’s Degree from Asbury Theological Seminary (in May of 2026). Pastor Ryan is also trained as a Chaplain through the International Fellowship of Chaplains and a certified Leadership Coach through the John Maxwell Organization.
Ryan and his wife were married in 2005 and have four incredible children together. They enjoy coffee, movies, football, and practicing hospitality, all while navigating what each season of life and ministry brings with grace and grit, helping people pay attention to God all along the way.
