Our Outreach team facilitates the relationship between Freedom Church and the various ministries and events in our community that we support. Outreach is not just a single event, it is a culture of consistently serving the world around us. We serve others by demonstrating God’s love in practical ways and we believe that acts of kindness can open hearts to the love of Jesus for both those being served and those serving. We want every person who is passionate about helping others to find the right opportunities to effectively use their gifts to build up the body of Christ.
Below you will find a description of the various outreach groups we offer, as well as a list of dates when the specific events will take place.
If you are interested in serving at any of the events or want more information about the Outreach team, contact Amber Rust by email: email@example.com or by phone: 765-894-3375.
1st Saturday Serve
Our 1st Saturday Serve Group works to meet the greatest need in our community by being the feet on the ground in pre-selected Lebanon neighborhoods on the first Saturday of every month. Some services we offer include snow & ice removal, winterizing, landscaping, home repairs, and neighborhood trash pick-up.
Our Community Partners Group works closely with local organizations including Shalom House, Love INC., The Caring Center, Life Centers, Community Gardens, and Teen Challenge, to both meet the greatest needs within each organization and to connect and empower people in our community to access resources and services provided by these partners. There are numerous opportunities each month to serve with this group.
The Community Events Group rallies around our local events and festivals including the 4th of July, Mischief on Meridian, and Christmas on the Square, to provide support to event hosts and attendees of each festivity. This group provides a great variety in serve opportunities and offers a chance to build new relationships between Freedom Church and the people of our community.
Our Jail Ministries Group provides monthly church services at our local Boone County Jail. One Tuesday a month, we visit the jail with a worship set, message, and an opportunity for small group time in order to bring a greater sense of Jesus' love and support to the inmates. This group requires a criminal background check in order to participate.
The Teacher Appreciation Group offers multiple ways to support our local schools and teachers. From Titus Donuts and Starbucks coffee to handwritten cards and gift cards, we are always looking for ways to appreciate them throughout the year by investing in them personally and as an organization. We also support families of students through All-Pro Dads.
Our Missions Group is geared toward research and fact finding for future national and world missions trips. This group will also help plan and execute trips as Freedom Church starts to mobilize to spread the gospel outside our local community.
